Padre Pio Prayer

Efficacious Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus

(This novena, the Padre Pio prayer, was recited every day by Saint Padre Pio for all those who recommended themselves to his prayers.)

Saint Padre Pio prayer -

"Oh my Jesus, You said, “verily I say to You, ask and you shall receive, seek and you shall find, knock and it shall be opened to you,” behold I knock, I seek and I ask for the grace of…

Then say an Our Father, Hail Mary, and a Glory be to the Father. “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I put all my trust in Thee.”

Oh my Jesus, You said, “verily I say to You, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My name, He will give it to you,” behold in your name I ask the Father for the grace of…

Then say an Our Father, Hail Mary, and a Glory be to the Father. “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I put all my trust in Thee.”

Oh my Jesus, You said, “verily I say to You, heaven and earth shall pass away but My words shall not pass away,” behold I, encouraged by your infallible words, now ask for the grace of…

Then say an Our Father, Hail Mary, and a Glory be to the Father. “Sacred Heart of Jesus, I put all my trust in Thee.”

“Oh Sacred Heart of Jesus, to whom one thing alone is impossible, namely, not to have compassion on the afflicted, have pity on us miserable sinners and grant us the grace which we ask of Thee through the Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, your and our tender Mother.”

“Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy, our life our sweetness and our hope. To thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve; To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this valley of tears. Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us and after this our exile show unto us the blessed fruit of thy womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary!

Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God That we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ.”

“St Joseph, foster father of Jesus, pray for us.”

Thus ends the Padre Pio prayer.

Saint Padre Pio's Prayer after Communion

"Stay with me, Lord, for it is necessary to have You present so that I do not forget You. You know how easily I abandon You.

Stay with me, Lord, because I am weak and I need Your strength, that I may not fall so often.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my life, and without You, I am without fervor.

Stay with me, Lord, for You are my light, and without You, I am in darkness.

Stay with me, Lord, to show me Your will.

Stay with me, Lord, so that I hear Your voice and follow You.

Stay with me, Lord, for I desire to love You very much, and always be in Your company.

Stay with me, Lord, if You wish me to be faithful to You.

Stay with me, Lord, for as poor as my soul is, I wish it to be a place of consolation for You, a dwelling of Your Love.

Stay with me, Jesus, for it is getting late; the days are coming to a close and life is passing. Death, judgment, and eternity are drawing near. It is necessary to renew my strength, so that I will not stop along the way and for that, I need You. It is getting late and death approaches. I fear the darkness, the temptations, the dryness, the cross, the sorrows. O how I need You, my Jesus, in this night of exile!

Stay with me tonight, Jesus, because in the darkness of this life, with all its dangers, I need You.

Help me to recognize You as Your disciples did at the breaking of bread, so that the Eucharistic Communion be the light which disperses the darkness, the power which sustains me, the unique joy of my heart.

Stay with me, Lord, because at the hour of my death, I want to be one with you, and if not by Communion, at least by grace and love.

Stay with me, Jesus. I do not ask for divine consolation, because I do not deserve them, but I only ask for the gift of Your Presence. Oh yes, I ask this of You!

Stay with me, Lord, for it is You alone, Your Love, Your Grace, Your Will, Your Heart, Your Spirit, because I love You and ask for no other reward but to love You more and more, with a strong and active love.

Grant that I may love You with all my heart while on earth, so that I can continue to love You perfectly, throughout all eternity, dear Jesus. Amen."
