Holy Face

The Holy Face of Jesus

Sister Mary of Saint Peter was a Carmelite nun who lived in France until her death in 1848. Our Lord revealed to her the devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus, saying: “Those who will contemplate the wounds on My Face here on earth shall contemplate it radiant in heaven.”

There can be no doubt as to the efficacy of the Devotion to the Holy Face, as Pope Leo XIII has settled the matter for all time. Just as devotion to the Sacred Heart was meant to rouse Catholics from their laxity, while also act as a means to prevent France from suffering the French revolution, devotion to the Holy Face of Jesus is meant to make reparation for the sins of modern disbelievers and to combat the militant atheistic Communism which currently threatens to overwhelm the world.

“Think of the outrages inflicted on Me by the Society of Communists, the enemies of the Church and of her Christ!” Our Divine Savior said to Sister Mary of St Peter. “They have laid their hands upon the anointed of the Lord. But their machinations are vain; their designs shall be foiled. I desire the establishment of the work of reparation! For it is the Work of Reparation to the Holy Face that will disarm God’s justice.”

Here, then, is the approved prayer given by Our Lord to Sister Mary of St Peter against revolutionary men:

“Eternal Father, I offer Thee the Cross of Our Lord Jesus Christ, and all the instruments of His Holy Passion that Thou mayst put division in the camp of Thine enemies, for as Thy beloved Son hath said, “a kingdom divided against itself shall fail.”

This is the prayer Our Lord gave to Sister Mary of Saint Peter to reproduce the Image of God in our souls:

“I salute Thee, I adore Thee, and I love Thee, Oh, Adorable Face of my Beloved Jesus, as the Noble Stamp of the Divinity! Completely surrendering my soul to Thee, I most humbly beg Thee, to stamp this seal upon us all, so that the Image of God may once more be reproduced by its imprint in our souls. Amen.”

Our Lord also dictated the following prayer to Sr Mary of Peter, saying that it would heal the injuries inflicted by the impious. The sin of blasphemy, Our Lord revealed, grievously offends Him. By blasphemy the sinner curses Him to His Face, attacks Him openly, annuls redemption, and pronounces his own condemnation.

"May the most Holy, most Sacred, most Adorable,
Most Incomprehensible and Ineffable Name of God
Be always Praised, Blessed, Loved, Adored and Glorified,
In Heaven, on Earth and under the Earth,
By all the Creatures of God,
And by the Sacred Heart of Our Lord Jesus Christ,
In the most Holy Sacrament of the Altar.
Amen."

The Holy Face of Jesus

Our Lord told Sister Mary of Saint Peter that this holy image is destined to be the means of defeating atheistic Communism and restoring peace to the world.

After the death of Sr Mary Peter, Our Lord chose a humble man known to the world now as Venerable Leo DuPont to continue the work of making known the devotion to the Holy Face.

Many people don't realize that St Therese of the Child Jesus was also an apostle of the Holy Face devotion, or even that her full name in the religious life was Sister Therese of the Child Jesus and the Holy Face.

"However tender was the devotion which Saint Therese had for the Child Jesus, it cannot be compared to the devotion she had for the Holy Face." - Mother Agnes of Jesus

St Therese tells us in her own words:

"O Jesus, Thy Face is the only beauty that delights my heart. Impress on my soul Thy divine likeness, so that Thou mayest not look at Thy spouse without beholding Thyself. O my Beloved, for love of Thee I am content not to see here on earth the sweetness of Thy glance, nor to feel the ineffable kiss of Thy sacred lips; but I beg Thee to inflame me with Thy Love, that it may consume me quickly, and that soon Therese of the Holy Face may behold Thy glorious Face in Heaven."

While this devotion consoles Our Lord, it was given to us in our day to cure the evils in our time. In addition to the Holy Mass and the Rosary, devotion to the Holy Face is the remedy meant to confront Communism in our day. We are threatened socially and economically, but we are also threatened spiritually by the godless forces which wish to extinguish faith in God.
